I remember vividly Edie playing the Peekskill All-stars when I
was 12 years old.... some 46 yrs ago! Pitching from 2nd base was
amazing as was you almost picking off a runner on 1st (no more
than 3 steps off the bag) behind your back!! These are great memories
and I thank you for them. I repeat your heroics often to my friends.
I wish you the very best!!

I saw Eddie play a county all-star team in Keene, NH back in the
mid 50s. I still remember Eddie's first pitch. The leadoff batter
simply dropped his bat and looked at the sky. It was an extraordinay
and memorable game.

My uncle Peanuts, who isnow 87 years old, often talks about when
the King came to Buffalo. My uncle's team played the king back
in the late 40s or early 50s. My uncle ofter boasts that he was
able to "beat" the King, batting on his knees yet! Wondered
if anyone rememers that, expecially Eddie. When he heard about
Eddie's book he wondered if it would be mentioned in it. I told
him I doubted it, but am going to buy the book for him anyway.
I was amazed to find that the King & his Court were still
touring. If they are ever here in the Buffalo area I will have
to try & take him. Best of Everything to you!

My father played for the Hawthorne Chevies, et al (NJ) in the
50's & 60's. He always enjoyed telling me about the King and
His Court. Dad
still has many great stories about those games. He says you'd
have to see a game and exhibition to believe it.
My father's
favorites are the "water tank" bond exhibitions. He
has many other great and funny memories. Dad
played against the KING AND HIS COURT many times. He also told
me he occasionally warmed Eddie up or participated in the exhibition
portions. My
father added it was wonderful to know that the statistics of those
years were compiled. He added that it would be a shame if others
would never know of Eddie. Dad
and I wish Eddie GOOD HEALTH.

Both I and my grandkids -- an 11-yr-old boy and 12-yr-old girl
who are into select-level baseball and softball -- have enjoyed
watching the King's DVD several times. I'm also enjoying his book
and we all think "The Song" is cool. Incidentally, my
grandaughter wears No. 7, also. I guess great softball players
think alike.

As a 17 y/o Marine I first played against you in 1962 @ Camp Pendleton
CA. You were my inspiration to become a fastpitch pitcher. You
were awesome!! I met and played against you again in 1989 in Tacoma
Wa. You were still awesome. JR pitched good that night but your
still the King!! I am sorry I missed your farewell tour when you
came through TX, but unlike many others I have some very special
memories of having the honor of playing against the "KING"
not once but twice in my life time. God Bless you and Semper FI.

saw you at a benifit for Riegel Ridge A.A. it brought back alot
of old memories and I'd just like to say thanks for the Miller
at The Brass Rail after the game. By the way I'm still playing
Not running as fast but none the less still love the game. Thank

I had the immence pleasure of being the teams bat boy sometime
in the late 80's I think somewhere in Connecticut. My dad had
promised me the best game I've ever seen, and he wasent even close.
The immense joy that I still remember about that game and being
able to interact with the players was a memory beyond price. I
remember more about that game than I do my wedding! I
have always been a fan since that summer day and will cherish
those memories and continue to share those with people I meet
that have never heard of the 'King and His Court'. Truly a man
beyond greatness. A

Dear Eddie: Anne Marie asked me to share with you what I had shared
with her yesterday at the Polly's Place Exhibition. I was a 9th
Grader/Freshman at Walla Walla College Academy in 1961,when Eddie
spoke for a chapel. Because I was so intensely interested to playing
softball, and had been encouraged and tutored by Duane Ragan,
a former roomate at Auburn Academy, and was such a fan of the
Team, the talk given at the time, in which the recommitment to
the Lord and the SDA Church, and the experience of God's renewed
blessings, were tremendous impact on me. I recommitted my life
to Christ during that talk, and am forevergrateful. Yesterday
was spiritual experience for me, as it was an answer to prayer
to be able to thank you, Eddie, personally. Bill

your team dressed as "Ladies"! It brought back the memories
my father had told me about. He was a great pitcher, and he thought
you were the absolute best in the world. Mom thought so too! Congratulations
on an unbelievably long career as the world's greatest pitcher.
